HR Generalist — CrowdHealth
About CrowdHealth
CrowdHealth isn’t your ordinary healthcare company. We’re tearing down a system designed to confuse people, drain wallets, and keep everyone dependent on insurance middlemen. We’re building something radically better — healthcare powered by community, transparency, and personal responsibility.
But none of that happens without the right humans behind it.
That’s where you come in.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist is the quiet force that keeps our people engine running clean, fast, and human. You’re not here to “do HR paperwork.” You’re here to help CrowdHealth scale with intention — finding great people, welcoming them like family, solving problems before they become problems, and building the kind of employee experience that makes people brag about where they work.
If you’re the type who loves systems and people, who can be warm and direct at the same time, and who gets a weird amount of satisfaction from a perfectly executed onboarding… this might be your role.
What You’ll Own
1) Recruiting & Onboarding
You’ll help run hiring end-to-end — not like a bureaucrat, but like a matchmaker.
- Own the flow: job posts, application reviews, interview scheduling, candidate follow-through.
- Partner with hiring managers to define what “great” looks like (then go find it).
- Create an onboarding experience that makes new hires feel wanted, ready, and dangerous by Day 1.
- Keep candidates treated like humans — because they are.
2) Employee Support
You’re a first-line advocate for the team.
- Be the go-to person for employee questions and the guidepost for policies, benefits, and clarity.
- Help cultivate a people-first culture that stays high-trust and high-performance as we grow.
- Support respectful, direct employee relations; know when to handle and when to escalate.
3) HR Operations
You’ll keep the machine humming so people can do their best work.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (clean data = clean decisions).
- Support payroll changes, updates, and coordination to keep pay perfect and on time.
- Help run key HR rhythms like performance reviews, training rollouts, and feedback cycles.
- Improve processes as you go — we’re not married to “the way it’s always been done.”
4) Benefits & Compliance
You’ll help employees navigate the stuff that matters when life happens.
- Guide employees through benefits with clarity and patience.
- Communicate updates in a way that actually makes sense.
- Keep us compliant with employment laws and internal policies — no drama, no surprises.
What We’re Looking For
You’re likely a fit if you:
- Have 2+ years in HR or similar role
- Communicate clearly, kindly, and confidently — even when the topic is tricky.
- Love organization and details, but don’t get lost in them.
- Can juggle five plates without dropping the one that matters most.
- Learn systems quickly (HRIS, payroll platforms, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Bring a proactive, no-ego, pitch-in energy — because startups require it.
Bonus Points If You
- Have HR certs (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.).
- Have startup / fast-growth battle scars.
- Know employment law basics and enjoy staying sharp on best practices.
- Believe a great HR function protects culture and raises the bar.
Why Join CrowdHealth?
Because you want to build something that matters with people who move fast and care deeply.
- A mission-driven team disrupting healthcare from the inside out.
- A culture that values truth, ownership, and momentum over corporate theater.
- The chance to shape HR in a company that’s still early enough to build it right.
- A front-row seat to scaling a challenger brand with a real movement behind it.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000 per year
Benefits:
- Unlimited paid time off
- 3 months parental leave
- Equity
Schedule: Monday to Friday normal business hours
