Peer-to-Peer Health Care Funding

How CrowdHealth Works

CrowdHealth is not an insurance company, but a platform & community that empowers you with a crowdfunding tool and a wealth of resources to efficiently manage your health care costs.

A Refreshingly Straight Forward,
Decentralized Process

Our business model is unique. Unlike insurance, we do not profit
in any way from sickness. We promote your wellbeing.

Step 1

Subscribe for $55/Month

Join the CrowdHealth community with a $55 monthly subscription. This fee provides you access to a suite of health care tools and a dedicated team of Personal Care Advocates, ready to guide you through health care decisions and bill negotiations.

Step 2

Choose the Right Membership for You

Every month, you'll assist another member with their health event based on membership type, age and family size. Our platform effortlessly distributes costs among the crowd, making it easy to support others:

Our full-service membership designed for everyday care and unexpected events—ideal if you want peace of mind and ongoing support for your health needs.
A streamlined option built for major medical events only—best for those who are comfortable with higher personal responsibility and want a low-cost safety net without the extras.
Step 3

Help Other Members

This is where the "crowd" in CrowdHealth comes to life.

Each month, you’ll be asked to help crowdfund another member’s medical bill—never more than your set monthly maximum. Our team thoroughly reviews each bill to ensure it’s legitimate, fairly priced, and eligible.

Your contribution amount is based on your membership, age, and family size. Our platform matches you with a member in need, and your contribution goes directly to the other member to help fund their medical expenses—no middleman, no pooled funds.

Step 4

Receive Help from the Crowd

When you face a Health Event, simply upload your bills in the app. You’ll pay a small portion called your Member Commitment, and the remaining eligible expenses will be submitted for crowdfunding by the community.

Contributions from other members go straight into your crowdfunding bank account that is opened upon sign up —we never pool funds or touch your money. It’s simple, transparent, and designed to work for real people.

Examples of How Big Bills Get Paid

Navigating Major Health Issues

Imagine a $500,000 hospital bill from an emergency open heart surgery. The bill first gets negotiated down to a reasonable fair market rate, approximately $150,000, and then gets submitted to the Crowd. 1,111 members give $140 each to meet the need of this medical bill.

Managing Accidents

When Brian breaks his arm mountain biking and faces $5,000 worth of medical bills from the ER, follow up care, and physical therapy, he knows he’s going to pay for the first $500 of care and then he can ask the Crowd for help with the rest. The remaining $4,500 is submitted to the Crowd for crowdfunding and sent directly to Brian who uses the funds to pay his medical bills.

Planning for Scheduled Procedures

For a planned knee replacement, CrowdHealth can help you shop for a high quality, fairly priced provider. Knee Replacement surgery on the free market costs approximately $20,000. This amount, distributed among 140 members, can be submitted to the Crowd for crowdfunding prior to the surgery so you have the funds you need to pay at the time of service.

Navigating Prenatal Care & Childbirth

Lisa and Michael are expecting their first child and just had their very first prenatal visit. While at the visit, their doctor gives them information on their cash-pay Global Fee for all prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care totaling $6,000. When Lisa calls to register with the hospital, she is given a Good Faith Estimate for her delivery totaling another $6,000.  Additional blood work and imaging adds another $1,500 to the total, bringing their maternity costs to $13,500. Lisa and Michael know they will be paying the first $3,000 for their Maternity Member Commitment and will submit the remaining $10,500 to the Crowd for crowdfunding in order to pay the remaining balances.
