Frequently asked questions

What is changing?

CrowdHealth is moving to a new banking partner, Stearns Bank, and updating the technology that supports how money moves between members.

As part of this change, members will need to complete a short banking migration to set up their new crowdfunding bank account and reconnect the payment method they use with CrowdHealth.

Why is CrowdHealth making this change?

Our current banking partner is ending its support for the banking services CrowdHealth uses, which means we need to transition members to a new banking partner.

Rather than simply replacing the existing setup, we're using the opportunity to improve the banking experience and build a stronger foundation for how money moves between members.

Who is the new banking partner?

Our new banking partner is Stearns Bank, with banking technology supported through Synctera.

You'll still manage your CrowdHealth experience through CrowdHealth. The change is primarily to the banking infrastructure behind the scenes.

What do I need to do?

Beginning October 1, you'll be asked to complete your banking migration. We'll provide a link that walks you through the process.

You'll need to complete the required banking setup and verification steps for your new account.

Our goal is for members to complete their migration by November 1, 2025.

Why do I have to do this if I already have a bank account connected?

Even if you currently use ACH with CrowdHealth, you'll still need to complete the migration because we're moving to a new banking partner and opening a new crowdfunding account as part of that transition.

We know it's an extra step, so we've designed the process to make it as straightforward as possible.

What if I currently use a credit card?

As part of the new banking experience, CrowdHealth is moving to ACH-only payments. Credit cards will no longer be supported after the migration.

You'll need to connect a bank account as your method of payment during the migration process.

What are the benefits of the new banking experience?

The new infrastructure gives CrowdHealth a better foundation for managing how money moves between members.Members can expect benefits including:

  • A more streamlined ACH-based payment experience
  • Greater visibility into banking activity and transactions
  • A more direct flow of crowdfunding funds
  • Lower transaction fees for members
  • A banking foundation that can better support future CrowdHealth improvements
When do I need to complete the migration?

The migration launches October 1, and we're asking members to complete it by November 1, 2025 Migrating early also gives you more chances to win through our banking migration giveaway.

Is there an incentive for completing my migration?

Week 2

10 members win 2027 advocacy fees waived

Why should I migrate early?

Completing your banking migration early means you won’t miss the opportunity to participate in the weekly advocacy fee prize drawings.

The first three weeks of the campaign will each feature 10 prizes waiving 2027 CrowdHealth advocacy fees. The sooner you complete your required banking update, the sooner you can check it off your list.

And all eligible entries for the Grand Prize drawing will have a chance to win $10,000.

Do I need to enter the giveaway separately?

No. Once you successfully complete your banking migration during the promotional period, you'll automatically be entered into the applicable drawing.*

When will winners be selected?

Winners will be selected after each weekly migration period closes and eligible migrations have been verified.

Specific drawing dates and winner notification details will be included in the official giveaway rules.

Can I win more than once?

No. Winning an advocacy fee prize removes you from future advocacy fee drawings, but you're still eligible for the grand prize.

Other common questions

What happens to my current CrowdHealth bank account?

Any balance in your Regent Bank account will be moved to your new Stearns bank account and your Regent account will be closed.

Will my CrowdHealth membership change?

No. This banking migration does not change the core CrowdHealth membership you've joined.

It's an update to the banking infrastructure that supports your membership and how money moves between members.

Will my monthly payments change?

The migration changes how payments are processed, including the move to ACH-only payments.

If there are any changes to the amount or timing of your payments, we'll communicate those separately and clearly before they take effect.

Is my money safe during the transition?

Protecting member funds and maintaining continuity throughout the migration is our top priority. CrowdHealth is coordinating the move from the existing banking structure to the new banking infrastructure to keep the transition safe and seamless for members.

What if I have trouble completing my migration?

We'll help you through the process. If you run into an issue with identity verification, connecting your bank account, or another part of the migration, contact the CrowdHealth team and we'll help you determine the next step.

What happens if I don't migrate by November 1, 2026?

November 1 is our target completion date so we have time to help members who run into issues before the banking transition is finalized.

If you haven't migrated by then, CrowdHealth will reach out with additional instructions. Because the existing banking setup is being retired, all members will ultimately need to complete the migration to maintain the banking functionality required for their CrowdHealth membership.
