Purpose

To ensure CrowdHealth Members' medical expenses are reviewed, managed, and crowdfunded efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with community standards—helping Members trust that their contributions are being used fairly and responsibly.

Scope

As a Crowdfunding Specialist, you will manage the flow of healthcare expenses through the CrowdHealth platform—from reviewing submitted bills, evaluating eligibility, and finalizing expenses to coordinating the crowdfunding process and ensuring Member accounts are accurately maintained. Your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and validating healthcare bills
  
  
• Facilitating the crowdfunding process
  
  
• Managing fund disbursements
  
  
• Ensuring fair pricing and adherence to Membership guidelines
  
  
• Supporting a seamless Member experience around health events and expense handling
  
  

This is a full-time remote position reporting to the Head of Operations.

CrowdHealth Members experience a transparent, trustworthy, and well-managed funding process for major medical events—resulting in:

Responsibilities

Health Event & Cost Administration

• Assess bills for completeness, eligibility, and fair market pricing.
  
  
• Coordinate with Care Advocates to resolve questions or gather additional information.
  
  
• Submit bills for negotiation when pricing is excessive.
  
  
• Respond to Member requests and questions quickly and professionally
  
  
• Collaborate with team members to continuously improve the Member experience.
  
  

Crowdfunding Management

• Submit eligible bills for crowdfunding
  ‍
• Troubleshoot and resolve crowdfunding issues
  ‍
• Reconcile Member crowdfunding account balances.
  ‍
• Handle failed payments, refunds, cancellations, and return of unused balances.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in public or private accounting, including reconciliations and financial operations
  
  
• Healthcare experience, with a strong background in healthcare billing and administration
  
  
• Passion for improving how people access and pay for healthcare in the U.S.
  
  

Skills & Competencies

• Analytical mindset: Strong attention to detail and ability to assess legitimacy and fairness of submitted bills
  
  
• Financial accuracy: Comfortable reconciling accounts, managing fund flows, and recording entries precisely
  
  
• Critical thinking: Able to evaluate complex healthcare scenarios and recommend solutions aligned with CrowdHealth policies
  
  
• Process-driven: Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple cases in various stages
  
  
• Technical proficiency: Skilled in Excel and familiar with platforms like ZenDesk, Slack, and internal operations tools
  
  
• Team orientation: Collaborative, communicative, and supportive of other team members' work in delivering an excellent Member experience
  
  
• Empathy & trustworthiness: Committed to handling Member contributions with integrity and care
  
  

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000 per year
